About Us

MITvote2018 is a nonpartisan group of graduates and undergraduates with the goal of engaging an active voter community on campus.

We organize voting events, register students to vote, and are a source of civic engagement for the MIT community. We initially formed in 2017 to raise awareness of the municipal elections in Cambridge, and some of our members were involved in separately organized voter registration efforts before that. We are grateful to the MIT Libraries, the MIT Division of Student Life (especially the Priscilla King Gray Public Service Center), the Institute Community and Equity Office, and many others for their support.

We are led by our co-chairs, Davi da Silva and Sarah Powazek. Please email vote2018@mit.edu with any questions.

Join Us!

MITVote2018 is recruiting undergraduate and graduate students to be liaisons for their communities. We do everything from creative registration events to organizing dorm liaisons to getting cool guest speakers to engage the MIT community. If you are creative and passionate about helping the MIT community, we want you!

Your role will include:

-reaching out to your community with registration and voting deadlines and information
-helping out with voting events
-finding creative ways to increase voter turnout in your community
